2022 Cross Country sign-ups are now Open!! We are accepting sign-ups for the 2022 Cross Country Program. The first practice/Open Run will be on September 7th at Lawnwood Stadium from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Practice Monday, and Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm and Saturdays- $100 per season and $25 per month. Please keep in mind the practices are subject to change. Meet Our Coach,
The “Famous Coach Perez” graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Secondary Education with a Minor is Sports Leadership from Wesley College, located in Dover, Delaware, in the spring of 2012 and a Master’s of Science in Sports Management, with a certificate in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in the summer of 2021. As a student athlete at Wesley College, Coach Perez ran the 400 meter dash, 4x400 meter relay, and the 4x100 meter relay, earning All-Academic Conference Honors every season. Coach Perez also was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. After graduating from Wesley College, Coach Perez returned home to New York City to accomplish his dream of working as an educator for inner city youth in East Harlem and discovered his passion for recreation while working at Asphalt Green, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Coach Perez relocated to Port St Lucie, Florida to pursue his career in Athletics/Fitness and obtained a Personal Training Fitness Certification from the World Instructor Training School at Indian River State College. Coach Perez would go on to work as a Middle Physical Education Teacher and Athletic Director for Renaissance Charter School of Port St Lucie. As the Athletic Director, Coach Perez organized the largest Middle School Athletic Program in the Treasure Coast, competing in St Lucie County, Martin County, and Indian River County. Coach Perez served as the Cross Country, Track and Field coach for three years. The Renaissance Cross Country team competed in the 2017 Inaugural Florida Youth XC State Championship, 2018 Disney XC Classic Invitational, and the 2018 Fleet Feet Middle School Invitational. The Renaissance Track Team competed in the 2019 FLYRA Middle School Regional Championship, collecting 3rd in the Middle School Boys 200 Meter Dash, 3rdin the Middle School 4x100 Meter Relay, and 3rd in the Girls High Jump. The Renaissance Middle School Boys Track Team moved up from 4thout of 9, to 3rd out of 9 in rank at the St Lucie County Middle School Championship from 2018 to 2019. The Renaissance Middle School Girls Track Team moved up from 8th out of 9, to 2nd out of 9 in rank at the St Lucie County Middle School Championship from 2018 to 2019. Coach Perez was also instrumental in the implementation of the “St Lucie Road Runners”, short distance, sprinting class offered to the Youth by the City of Port St Lucie Parks and Recreation. Coach Perez continues to volunteer for the City of Port St Lucie as a Junior Basketball Coach and referee.
